Latvian Theatre Showcase 2025

The upcoming Latvian Theatre Showcase 2025 will be taking place from November 5th to 9th in Riga.

The year 2025 has provided us, the curators of the Latvian Theatre Showcase, with an opportunity to push our boundaries, take creative risks, and introduce unexpected choices into the program. We embraced a spirit of rule-breaking, which has become the foundation of this year's selection. This time, we've included premieres from recent seasons, works by internationally acclaimed directors, performances staged outside of Riga, and shows that transcend traditional audiences and stage formats.

Step by step, through dialogue, debate, and bold decisions, this vibrant lineup came together. Anyone attending Latvian Theatre Showcase (SKATE) 2025 will immediately sense this diversity. It echoes our 2023 edition, when SKATE joined forces with the Baltic Drama Forum. This November, Riga will once again become a hub for theatre professionals from across Europe. The ETC International Theatre Conference, hosted by Dailes Theatre during the same period, will make the city a gathering point for exchange, insight, and inspiration.

This diversity and intensity are exactly what we hope will spark meaningful discussions with our guests—conversations we consider essential to the spirit and purpose of this showcase.
