Teatr Polski in Bydgoszcz is opening the call for texts to the international award for playwrights. AURORA. The Drama Award of the City of Bydgoszcz is organized for the fourth time as a part of the Prapremiery Festival. Texts for the competition can be submitted until 15th of April. In the first stage of the competition the Jury will select five final texts, which will be presented as stage sketches during the Prapremiery Festival between November 17 and 23.
A unique opportunity to learn about ongoing events and changes in the Latvian performing arts, to meet people behind theatres and festivals, to get a comprehensive and multi-faceted view on Latvian theatre industry and to engage in discussions on potential international projects and cooperation.
Event will take place at galerija ISTABA, Kr.Barona 16a, Noveber 3, from 12 to 16.
The main idea that the KATLZ company promotes is the use of today's dramaturgy and new texts created in recent years by authors from different countries - Belarus, Russia and authors who were forced to leave their countries due to persecutions, as well as Ukrainian authors creating new wartime plays.
The New Riga Theatre (JRT) opens the season of 2023/2024 in hope of returning to its historical premises and will offer new productions on both stages – on Miera street and on Lāčplēša street.
The future belongs to cooperation, not competition. Because of this Theatre Ģertrūdes ielas teātris in this season along with preexisting work will welcome the audience to new productions that will give space for people to be together and to look at ordinary things in an extraordinary way.
In this, as in every other season, Dirty Deal Teatro will put all of our focus on original plays and dramaturgy created by local authors. Our main intention is to talk about current issues and to reveal what the artists and the society are concerned or interested about in this decade.
As always, Daugavpils Theatre offers diverse repertoire bringing diversity in genre and geography of the authors, as well as languages spoken on the stage. The main axis of this season’s explorations is humanity.
