Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre (Mihaila Čehova Rīgas Krievu teātris) welcomes on board director Laura Groza who made her debut on the stage of Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre last season when she directed critically acclaimed staging With Dance Shoes in Siberian Snows (Ar balles kurpēm Sibīrijas sniegos) that was nominated for Latvian theatre award Spēlmaņu nakts in several categories. After successful start Laura has accepted our invitation to be in charge of Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre’s artistic strategy and planning of repertoire, including developing and implementing our artistic vision for the coming years.
Recently the team of Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre welcomed another new member, playwright Artūrs Dīcis who is now serving as our in-house playwright.
Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre will present several new productions during new season. Our upcoming new productions are:
1st of September, Robin Hood, full-length musical play for children (directed by Dace Pūce);
13th of October, Caligula, full-length production (directed by Sergey Golomazov);
1st of December, The Visit of the Old Lady, full-length production (directed by Indra Roga);
15th of December, New Year’s Concert (directed by Sergey Golomazov).
