Matthias Hartmann THE STORY OF PARSIFAL, dir. Matthias Hartmann , NEW RIGA THEATRE

This original story by German director Matthias Hartmann is inspired by a rich tapestry of sources: medieval verse novels about Parsifal and the Holy Grail, Richard Wagner's opera Parsifal, a  screenplay by visionary American director Robert Wilson under the artistic editorship of Tancred Dorst, and the magnificent thousand-page novel The Red Knight: The Story of Parsifal by Swiss writer Adolf Muschg. This production is part of the series of programmed performances by artistic director
Alvis Hermanis, who has invited personally selected stage directors to work with the talented actor collective of New Riga Theatre.
