Alfred Jarry, Vladyslav Troyitsky, Elza Marta Ruža KING UBU AND OTHER MONSTERS, dir. Vladyslav Troyitsky LATVIAN NATIONAL THEATRE

The Latvian National Theatre's production, directed by the acclaimed Ukrainian director Vladislav Troitsky, directly questions the stability of freedom and independence, asking whether we can be certain of these tomorrow.
Troitsky's production starkly highlights how easily power can fall into the hands of morally bankrupt individuals—those who exploit and consume others, akin to monsters. Through the vibrant and engaging format of a musical show, the theatre exposes the absurdity of our choices and the  precariousness of our democratic structures.
